This page is under construction My first meal in Scottsdale was enjoyed on a February evening on the patio of the Grapevine Restaurant (on Brown - in Oldtown) warmed by a gas lamp and under the stars. Having just escaped an Ohio blizzard, I was definately intrigued. In the morning, the Sonoran Desert and it's unique lifeforms seemed like living sculptures. On that day, I was determined to make this beautiful place my "Home". The transition wasn't easy. Since the ties to Cincinnati ran deep. During the 1970's I had to content myself with yearly visits to the "Valley of the Sun". During that time, as I studied the projections of U.S. growth (Megatrends), I became more convinced that Arizona was a very special place. More importantly, perhaps, this beautiful Sonoran Desert was the only place I have ever felt truly "at home". Since my childhood had consisted of many different homes in different locations, (my dad was an air force officer) and I enjoyed travel immensely, this was truly a unique experience for me.
