The Valley of the Sun
An Overview of some Dynamic Valley Communities SCOTTSDALE - A city "Big on Style". Noteworthy cache comes with a "Scottsdale" address. SOUTH SCOTTSDALE - or as I prefer to call it - "Old" Scottsdale - a generally defined area near "Old Town", the "Fifth Avenue District" and the "Arts District". The Green Belt, a seven mile long area consisting of walking and bike paths and lakes, winds along Hayden Road. This area, designed by the Army Core of Engineers in the 1970's, diverts rain water and keeps this area of Scottsdale from flooding. This project serves as a model for other cities and is visited by about a million people annually. This older, less expensive, part of scottsdale is charming and slower paced than the northern, newere part of Scottsdale known as "North Scottsdale". NORTH SCOTTSDALE - The area north of Shea Boulevard. This area is "Newer", "Swankier", "Pricier". Wondrous views and the beauty of the Sonoran Desert offers a less "citified" feel. PARADISE VALLEY - In the 1880's the Rio Verde Canal Company had a dream to use canal water to convert this future Arizona town into farmland. Instead, Phoenix floks built some fine homes away from town. Next came resorts. Today this patch of desert, located primarily between Camelback and Mummy Mountains is still "Paradise" to those who live there. The median price of homes in Paradise Valley is consistantly "substantially" higher than other communities located within the Phoenix Metro. ARCADIA - This "Highly Coveted" central Phoenix neighborhood, bordered by Scottsdale Road, Camelfack Mountain and the Biltmore is one of the Valley's oldest and most coveted areas. The sprawling ranch homes exemplify 1950's architecture. The draw is "High Appreciation" without the "Stucco and Tiled Roof" "Cookie Cutter" atmosphere. for those homeowners wanting a "family" feel and Great Location, Arcadia is a great place to call home. CHANDLER - This "High-Tec Oasis" in the "Silicon Desert" is the community of choice for many young, upwardly mobile families. Intel, the largest "Tech Employer" in the Valley, is situated there. Intel also gives generously to the Chandler School System. The Regional Mall located at Chandler Blvd. and the 101 has reinforced the desirability of a Chandler address. Chandler, an exceptionally well planned and desirable community, has taken it's well earned place as the "Scottsdale" of the East Valley. NORTH PHOENIX - Location is a gigantic + for the "North Phoenix" area. Easy access to freeways, Mountain Preserves - i.e. Squaw Peak and North Mountain Park(s) and cultural venues - i.e. Shermer Art Center and The Heard Museum as well close proximity to downtown Phoenix make this location hard to beat. North Phoenix is a great place to call "home". TEMPE - "Location and Aciton" are just two of Tempe's hallmarks. As the home of Arizona State University and the major campus, there is plenty of accessible action for young singles. Tempe plays host to many scheduled events. The Tempe Town Lake offers added recreational opportunities. Tempe is an excellent place to invest in real estate. METRO PHOENIX - The Nation's fifth largest city boasts historic neighborhoods, a revitalized downtown with shops, cafes, clubs, museums, light rail and abundant professional sports. South Mountain Park, the world's largest municipal park, includes hiking trails and horseback riding as well as a magnificent city view. Metro Phoenix features an urban atmosphere juxtaposed with charming residential neighborhoods. This page is under construction -
